Amazon reveals top 10 Christmas toys for 2022 – from dinosaurs to cuddly cats | Metro News

Heads up, parents – Amazon UK has named the top 10 kids’ toys for this Christmas, and they’re sure to go down a treat with the kids.

These soon-to-be very popular toys include the likes of the Super Smile Dentist Kit, which lets kids play at the profession, Pictionary Air Star Wars, which features things from Star Wars The Clone Wars and The Mandalorian, and a Jurassic World dinosaur action figure, which is made of recycled plastic.

There’s also a very cute grey Squishmallows cat, a Colour ‘n’ Style Mermaid Friends: Hair Braiding Salon Playset, and a PLAYMOBIL City Life Recycling Truck – because it’s never too early to learn about hairstyling and environmental responsibility.

Matthew Redfearn, the company’s toys category leader, said: ‘In a year where ‘less is more’ for many families, we are offering options for all tastes and budgets this season, including tens of thousands of toys under £20.

‘We want everyone to have the chance to experience the happiness that playtime brings, so hundreds of this year’s top 10 toys will also be donated and delivered to vulnerable children across the UK.’

Girls Aloud’s Kimberley Walsh unveiled these top 10 at the ‘Joy of Toys’ experience on London’s South Bank.

The circus-style experience was open for one day only, and offered face paint, bubbles and hair braiding as well as an interactive play area between 9am and 4pm.

Organisers also invited attendees to share a message or drawing about their favourite toy, and Amazon and children’s charity Barnardo’s agreed to send toys to children and families in need in exchange for each one.

The people who shared their notes were also given the chance to walk away with one of this year’s most in-demand toys for free.

Barnardo’s CEO Lynn Perry MBE said: ‘We work with some of the UK’s most vulnerable children.

‘Every day, our workers are supporting children, young people and families having to choose between eating or paying the bills.

‘For many children, Christmas can be a time of feeling cold, hungry and left out, and it’s through working with partners like Amazon that we can continue to support families who are struggling, maybe now more than ever.’
